At Christ Community Church we realize that everyone is on a spiritual journey. When we say Experience God’s Word in Action we want this to be a place where we help you grow in your relationship with the Lord wherever you are at in your spiritual journey. We believe this is a lifelong process so we provide a number of opportunities for adults to be ministered to and to continue to grow in their faith while being challenged to Love God, Love One Another and Love Their Neighbor. Outside of our Sunday morning worship service we offer activities like Sunday School, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, Small Groups, and more. Please take a look at what might be helpful to you.
During the school year we typically offer Adult Sunday school classes. We offer a variety so you can always find one that is a good fit for you. Some of them are video based and others are discussion based, but they all give an opportunity for you to deepen your understanding of God’s Word and how it applies to your life. We currently have only 1 adult class.
Our Men’s ministry is called Journey Men and seeks to minister to men and connect them with other men for fellowship and support. There are Men’s small groups that meet together as well as Men’s Seminars and Conferences that we host and participate in.
We offer a number of Bible Studies during the year designed specifically for women as part of our Women’s Ministries. There are other activities, events and conferences that we participate in addition to our annual Women’s Retreat every fall.
When we think about “making disciples," which is exactly what Jesus instructed us to do in Matthew 28, we break that down to a three step process in our church called our Disciple Making Pathway, which is Loving God, Loving Others, and Loving Your Neighbor as Yourself. We believe the best way you can experience Loving Others is through our small group ministry. In our Small Groups we provide an opportunity for you to be a part of a community that knows and cares for one another on a level you don’t get from sitting in a pew behind someone in church each Sunday. We encourage you to join one of our small groups.
C3 - Kids
Our goal is to help our children become true disciples of Jesus Christ by: building relationships with them, Being examples for them and teaching them God’s Word.
Our key ministries to Children include Sunday Worship and AWANA. Our children’s ministries are aimed at children beginning at age 3 through the 6th grade.
C3 - Youth
Our Purpose: We believe that all students are created by God and so we will intentionally create opportunities for every student, each with God-given gifts talents and desires to love God with all their heart, soul, strength and mind, and follow Jesus, to create a growing, lasting and reproducing faith.
Our Mission: We desire to create a place where students can grow in Christ and where unsaved friends want to come.
Outreach is the work we do to reach and care for the community around us. We realize that in Waseca and the surrounding area there are many people who have very real physical needs, we also know that there are many people who don’t know Jesus. The work we do through Outreach is one of the ways we attempt to meet these needs. Our outreach activities include:
Bed Kits: We pack bed kits with a set of sheets, a pillow, and a set of towels. They are taken to the Waseca Area Neighborhood Service Center (WANSC) for distribution to families on an as-needed basis.
Food Shelf: We collect food or money for the Food Shelf during the month of February. We encourage donations of money because, in March, additional funds are available, based on the amount donated. Also, Food Shelf staff are able to buy more efficiently.
Spring Activity: Activities may range from small concerts, by local talent, to appearances by well-known regional artists.
Yarn Collection: Yarn is collected by our congregation, to be donated to the Federal Correctional Institution, for use by the inmates.
Greeters: Greeters may be the first contact with a new person coming into our church.
Also offering fun events throughout the year where people can learn about Jesus and what he did for them on the cross.
We believe we have been called to be “salt & light” to our community. Outreach is one of the ways that we do this, it is the third step on our Disciple-Making Pathway of Loving Others as Ourselves.
